Oil Painting Instruction For Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Students Utilizing Wet on Wet Large Brush Technique

I offer private and group oil painting instruction classes that are priced to meet the average persons budget.

My private lessons are 5 to 6 hour sessions priced at $45.00 each! I provide all of the supplies needed including canvases, brushes and the cleaning system. You will produce 1 painting per session.

I am currently offering 3 week workshops; on Wednesdays, from 9:00 am to 2:50 pm the Park and Recreation Center in Kingman, Arizona. We will be painting 1 painting, 16" X 20" or 18" X 24" at each 6-hour class. You will learn paint mixing, brush strokes, blending, design, composition and eye appeal; you will learn how to get a painting that looks good on canvass, at whatever level of achievement you desire. Each week you will be able to complete 1 painting!

Students are required to bring their own supplies to the workshop classes. Contact me beforehand if you are unable to furnish any of the following supplies needed prior to workshop.

What You Will Need For The Workshops:

Paints - Titanium White, Pthalo Blue, Pthalo Green, Prussian Blue, Midnight Black, Dark Sienna, Van Dyke Brown, Sap Green, Allzeron Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Indian Yellow, Bright Red, Liquid White, Liquid Black, Soft oil colors; Turquoise, Mauve, Cadmium Orange, Medium and Light Red; -Liquid Clear, Black Gesso, White Gesso, Painting Medium.

Brushes - 2 to 4 - 2" Landscape brushes, 1 or 2 -1" brush, 1 #6 fan brush, 1 #6 filbert brush, 1 script liner brush, 1 large palette knife. 3/4" floral Brush, 1/2" Floral Brush, and a Floral Filbert. Brush Cleaning System, coffee-can with a screen in the bottom, and brush cleaning rack in a deep bucket, 1/2-gallon odorless mineral spirits. 5 canvasses; 16" x 20”or 18” x 24”

Plexiglas palette approximately 14" X 20", may be purchased at True Value, and they cut it for you. Roll of Paper Towels, for each class.

Bob Ross Products are recommended and may be purchased from Dick Blick Art Supplies, 1- 800-828-4548. Brushes need to be specifically for oil painting, and are boar bristle, stiff yet flexible enough to use with oils.

The cost for the workshop is $45.00 for 3 six-hour sessions in which you will complete 3 paintings. Pre register at the Parks and Recreation Department in Kingman Arizona or at my art gallery at the Route 66 swap meet on the corner of Thompson and Route 66. My gallery is located across from the snack shop. You can stop by here on Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Instructions: We begin promptly, so arrive, early enough to prepare your canvass and palette, and be ready to paint at the first workshop. Wear painting clothing, as it can get messy. I look forward to seeing you at the painting classes.
